Coach Zachary Baker

Zach developed a passion for kids and soccer at an early age. His soccer days began at the age
of 5, and by age 10 he was helping teach toddlers in his local church’s Sunday School class. As
his love of soccer grew, so did his opportunities to learn and play at a higher level. Zach was
selected to join a national traveling club at the age of 17 that afforded him the opportunity to play
soccer in Denmark and Sweden over two consecutive summers. After graduating from high school, Zach
attended Trinity International University (Deerfield, Illinois) on a soccer scholarship. Zach, a
three year starter, was named National Player of the Week in 2000 and helped lead his team to the
NCCAA National Championship Tournament that same season. It was during his college years that Zach
began working weekly with kids at his local church. He also volunteered and taught/coached at several
summer camps as well.

After getting married in 2004, Zach and his wife Sarah moved back to Florida in 2005. Zach began
coaching at Orangewood Christian School (Maitland, Florida) that same year and will be entering his
5th season as an Assistant Coach and the Head Goalkeeper Coach in 2009. During that time Zach has
helped lead Orangewood to three consecutive State Final Four appearances, a championship at the
prestigous 2008 High School Invitational in Tampa, Florida and has seen Orangewood become a perennial
power in Central Florida and across the state. He has also worked at several summer camps and
coaching clinics.

Zach and his wife reside in Maitland, Florida and welcomed their first child, Jackson, in July of 2008. He and
his family are also actively involved at CityChurch Orlando, a new church plant in downtown Orlando.
